GEO-UM supports GEO-UIUC strike

The Graduate Employees’ Organization at University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign went on strike this morning against the Board of Trustees. GEO-UIUC has been bargaining with the administration for a new contract and is demanding that the university guarantee tuition waivers in the contract, which the university refuses to bargain over.

The University will be conducting an audit of the eligibility of dependents of ALL University employees, including graduate employees, starting in February 2010. GEO endorses One Kalamazoo

At the Wednesday October 28 Steward’s Council Meeting, the Steward’s Council voted to endorse One Kalamazoo’s campaign to support Kalamazoo’s Non-Discrimination Ordinance.
